Feel diary begins: hole 17 moment
Officially starting the feel diary. Cues clicked on hole 17 of today's 85 round.
Shot 85 today. But the story of this round is hole 17.
For the first 16 holes I was searching. The cues were there in theory but not connecting in the body. Then on 17 something locked in and I finished par-par. Too late to change the scorecard, but the feel is real and it’s confirmed.
Active iron cues:
- Less hands
- More wrist
- Stand closer to the ball
- Feel left arm fully extended
- Be slow
- Force and speed combined. Speed alone is not enough
That last one is new and important. Pure speed without mass behind it is a flick. What I want is force and speed, the hands loading and then releasing with intent, not just swinging fast.
Putting:
- Straight arms on both hands
- Trust the read and the feel
- Don’t think too much about it
The takeaway from hole 17:
Next round, hole 1 gets the hole-17 version of me. That’s what this diary is for: carrying the feeling forward instead of rediscovering it mid-round every time.
