This one took a while to process after the round. A 79 on the blues at Delicias. I’d been grinding toward this for months.
The big thing that changed: I stopped gripping the club with my palms. I’d built calluses on both index fingers from squeezing too hard, and somewhere along the way I started holding it more in my fingers. It sounds small but it changed everything: the face started going where I was aimed, contact got more consistent, and I stopped fighting the club through impact.
No mechanical overhaul. Just trusting what my hands were telling me.
What clicked:
- Grip moved from palm-dominant to finger-dominant
- More feel, more control, less tension
- Trusted the natural fade instead of fighting for straight
The back nine was better than the front. That almost always happens when I stop trying to force things and just play.
