First technical baseline

First deep dive into swing mechanics, equipment, and short game.

First time really mapping out where the game is technically.

The head movement problem

Main flaw: moving my head before impact on approach shots. Causes the face to open slightly, ball misses on direction but distance holds. That tells me strike quality is there. It’s positional, not a power issue. Fix is keeping eyes on the ball through impact.

Ball flight

Naturally straight. The fade is the shot I can play with most confidence. No need to fight for straight when the fade is right there.

Short game shift

Switched from the 60° to the 56° for most shots inside 30 yards. Lower flight, more roll, holing out more. The 60 is still there for high stopping shots when I need them.

Equipment note

T100s are honest: bad strikes show up. Starting to think about a fitting to check lie angles and shaft specs. The hybrid (GT3 21°) has been the problem club in the bag.

Phase: Early 2026. Swing feel at this stage: rotation-based, body leads, hands relatively passive. About to change.
